What a delicious recipe. Using the maple syrup in place of HF corn syrup is great!

If I may also add a couple of suggestions...

1. Keep your popped popcorn warming in a 300F oven while preparing the candy coating. It will really help it spread and coat the popcorn when you mix them together.

2. Use Mushroom Popcorn instead of "regular" popcorn (also known as butterfly kernel popcorn). Mushroom popcorn will let you be much more vigorous in your mixing without breaking so you get much better candy coverage and not a bunch of broken bits.

By being able to mix everything more, you'll have less clumping and you won't have to do so much breaking apart when it cools.

I absolutely love caramel corn but the maple syrup added to this recipe sounds good too. Does it actually have a nice maple taste to it?
